Simply Iced Coffee

This recipe was developed for the Fresh Brew Plus 12-Cup Coffee Maker (EC-YGC120) and Fresh Brew Plus Thermal Carafe Coffee Maker (EC-YSC100). Adjustments may be required for making this recipe in other coffee makers.

Make the simple syrup. In a medium sauce pan, combine ingredients for simple syrup. Cook over medium heat and stir until sugar dissolves. Bring to a boil then simmer for 1 minute. 

Turn heat off and allow to cool completely. Syrup can be kept in the refrigerator for up to two weeks.  

Make iced coffee. For EC-YGC model, fill the Ice Basket with ice and gently shake to reduce any gaps. Place the Carafe Lid on the Ice Basket and set in the Glass Carafe. Add ground coffee to the Basket Coffee Filter. Fill the Water Tank with water. For EC-YSC model, add ground coffee and water according to the instruction manual.

For EC-YGC model, set the KEEP WARM mode to “OFF” and press the START button. For EC-YSC model, press the START button.

When brewing completes, press the CANCEL button and unplug the Power Plug from the electrical outlet. For EC-YGC model, discard remaining ice cubes from the Ice Basket and place the Carafe Lid on the Glass Carafe. For EC-YSC model, immediately pour the brewed coffee over ice in another container to flash chill. 

Pour the coffee into glasses with ice cubes. 

Add simple syrup and cream to taste.
