Tuna Seafood Pilaf

Zojirushi Recipe – Tuna Seafood Pilaf

Japanese style pilaf makes a great rice dish with only a few ingredients. Use medium or short grain, freshly cooked or leftover rice. Sauté with butter, shrimp, tuna, and vegetables and season with salt and pepper.


            	Tuna Seafood Pilaf  Ingredients

Ingredients (serves 4):

  • 10 oz. canned tuna
  • 3 Tbsp. butter
  • 1/2 onion, small dice
  • 8 oz. salad style shrimp, small to medium-sized
  • 8 mushrooms, sliced
  • 1/4 cup bell pepper, small dice
  • 3 cups cooked rice (see here)
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. black pepper
  • 2 Tbsp. curly parsley, minced

Drain tuna and separate into large chunks using a fork.

In a large frying pan, melt butter over medium heat and sauté onion for 2 minutes.

Add shrimp, tuna, mushrooms and bell pepper to the pan and sauté for 1 minute.

Add cooked rice, salt and black pepper, and cook for another minute. Add minced parsley and toss gently to combine. Turn heat off.

Serve immediately. Enjoy!
